This is a very busy Starbucks with a good assortment and very helpful and friendly staff. The Starbucks app malfunctioned, but the staff corrected the problem being pleasant the whole while. Great people.

Today, a holiday, was apparently a holiday for some of the employees in this branch. AJ, Naomie, and Leary were the ones by the counter where one picks up the orders. Considering I passed by on an off-hour, the service was awful. One customer finally complained that his americano was taking so long because these 3 were just talking to each other. There were 3 empty cups on top of the coffee machine, and they only looked at it when they were called out. AJ then makes a comment to Naomie that they can’t talk to each other pala. They can, but they still need to work. Only the lips were moving, not the hands. When they did start to make the coffees, Leary seemed lost, Naomie acted busy but was just really moving around and moving empty cups and AJ was doing her part, loading straws into the straw container. The thing is, there were other staff there behind the display fridge taking up space. While this going on, the line of customers started get longer. How this branch operates when there are more people, I cannot imagine the wait.

If you order a “to go” bread here, even if you do not require them to reheat it, they will not give it to you outright. They will still line your order in the oven which is impractical if there are too many customers crowding the store. I respectfully asked Jco, the cashier on duty, if I could already get my bread since I do not require him to reheat it as the place is too crowded already. He did not allow me to get my order outright and still line my order in the oven. Good thing their manager is very kind and was the one who got me my bread without lining it in the oven.

We frequent Starbucks Capitol commons. Generally good services, it is just that there are many other SB shops where staff are more friendly and lively and sincere when they serve. So yeah, the service particularly from the drive-thru team has a room for improvement, but since there’s not a lot of SB drive-thrus yet, extending a little bit of patience won’t hurt.
